On July 7, 2011, the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 world premiere was held in London, during which J.K. Rowling gave an emotional speech thanking the fans and those involved in creating the Harry Potter films.

Jul 8, 2012: J.K. Rowling - J.K. Rowling Suite As seen in the J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life documentary, J.K. Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh. The suite in which she worked, room number 552, has been renamed (with the author’s permission) the J.K. Rowling Suite. The front door of the room now has a brass plaque, and a brass owl instead of a door knocker.
